Xiaomi is launching Redmi 8A in India on September 25. The Redmi 8A is the successor to the Redmi 7A that launched in India earlier this year. For the price, the Redmi 7A was a good value for money smartphone. This is also what I said in the India Today Tech full review of the Redmi 7A. Read the review here.
Ahead of the Redmi 8A India launch, Xiaomi announces that the predecessor device aka the Redmi 7A will sell with discount in the country. The discounted price is a part of Diwali with Mi sale. During the sale the Redmi 7A will be available at an effective price of Rs 4,999. It is for the first time that the Redmi 7A is selling at lower price in the country.
It is worth noting that the lower price of the Redmi 7A is inclusive of the 10 per cent instant discount on HDFC cards offer. In India, the Redmi 7 comes in two RAM and storage variants. The base model of the phone that includes 2GB RAM and 16GB storage comes with a retail price of Rs 5,999. During the sale this model will be available for Rs 4,999, the company has announced. The second and top-end model of the Redmi 7A includes 2GB RAM + 32GB storage and this version comes with a price of Rs 6,199.
We at India Today Tech believe the Redmi 8A will also be priced similar to the Redmi 7A in the country and later the price of the 7A will be drop. Take this with a pinch of salt as Xiaomi is yet to reveal details about the Redmi 8A pricing in India.
Alongside the Redmi 7A Xiaomi will sell several other smartphones with a massive discount during the Diwali with Mi sale. Some of the smartphones that will sell with massive discount include the Redmi Note 7S, the Redmi K20 series, among others. The Diwali with Mi sale begins on September 28 at 12noon. The sale will continue until October 4. The sale will take place on the company’s official website.
Overall it is expected that the Redmi 8A will be a much-upgraded version of the Redmi 7A. The Redmi 8A will come with waterdrop notch, single camera on back and front, new aura grip design, massive 5000mAh battery, fast charging support, Type C support, powerful chip, among other things.
